How to Create a Holiday Capsule Wardrobe

Choose Three Holiday Colors ...

Make sure they mix and match well together. Keep your holiday capsule wardrobe simple, by concentrating on only a few colors, such as red, green and gold. Or green and gold with a neutral. Just as is true with holiday decorations, it can be tempting to go overboard but try to resist!

Unless you are planning to invest in pieces you will wear every holiday season from now on, don’t buy a holiday top or dress in every color and design. Stick to two or three.

A Holiday Capsule Wardrobe for the Entire Month

If you include neutrals, like khaki or grey pants or skirts, buy a few tops in holiday colors, one jacket and one snazzy dress for the holiday office party, you can create a month of holiday outfits with less than ten pieces, some of which you may already own. It’s an important season but don’t let its importance overwhelm you as you create your capsule.

For example, I can use this cream jacket with holiday colors and throughout the cold weather season...

With these guidelines, you can create a holiday capsule wardrobe that is both stylish and inexpensive.Stay tuned this month for more helpful holiday style tips.

"When we find the set that enhances you above all the others, what we have really uncovered are the exact pigments already in your skin, in your body. When you then wear the colors you already are, you look like magic because your person and your attire is sending the same wavelength of energy to the viewer." ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

  1. I have no true holiday separates in my closet! Usually, my touch of holiday is thru accessories...like a red scarf or gold jewelry! Hope you are doing well:) Happy Weekend!

    1. Hi Chandra! I know what you mean. This year, I didn't purchase anything, either, that's just for the holidays. But I will use the reds and greens I already have. And I think accessories are fine because they can add that special touch. Great to hear from you!
