We started back to homeschool this week! I am excited about all we will do this year and am praying it will go smoothly and be fun for us both.
(1) Read Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui : and choose at least one area (probably the living room) to clear this month. And I'm hoping to clear all my clutter by the end of the year (please, God). Thanks, Ann, for the inspiration.

(2) Start with Ten Challenge: Choose ten items for my early-fall, transitional capsule wardrobe this month and live in them.
(3) Read Archetypes of the Enneagram: Exploring the Life Themes of the 27 Enneagram Subtypes from the Perspective of Soul. Or, at least read the chapter about my own type.
What are your goal for September? How did you do with your back-to-school or back-to-homeschool transitions?

Hooray for getting back to school! Since we did school off an on all summer, and since my children begged me to do school when I didn't have it planned, the transition back to school was easy...at least for them. We're doing more this year since Sarah Beth (my oldest) is in first grade.
ReplyDeleteClearing clutter is something that I could use, too. I feel like there is always clutter that I need to get rid of.
Hi Nikki! That's amazing that you have the fortitude for school year-round. I know what you mean about clutter!!
DeleteClutter, and cleaning seem to be on everyone's mind this month. Must be something in the air. hahaha
ReplyDeleteI pray homeschooling goes well for you. We too are back at it full swing and so far so good. It has been a ton less stressful so far this year. :)
Hi Sherri! I've noticed that, too, about clutter and it's good to have the company. Thanks, I hope all goes well for you, too!! I am enjoying it, but still adjusting to the loss of time, so to speak.
DeleteGreat goals Jeanine! Accountability in that clutter cleaning and homeschooling and blogging! Together, we can do it!:)
ReplyDeleteHi Heather! Thanks!! I appreciate the encouragement, too. And I agree, we can do it. :)
DeleteI'm so happy that you are inspired to add a decluttering goal. I know it has been such a relief to me to see area by area decluttered. It's a time-consuming process, but definitely worth it. Will be hoping it goes well for you this month! Have fun with the start of homeschooling! The beginning of the year is such an exciting time. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ann! It is a relief, and I just hope I can stick with it until it's all or nearly all done. Thanks!!
DeleteGreat goals - I'm totally with you on trying to clear the clutter out too! Today I was able to get rid of 2 bags of toys and move some of the bigger toys out of the living room to either consign or rotate. It felt really good :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Aurie!! That's wonderful! I know what you mean; it really does feel good.
DeleteI wish my family felt the same way about clutter that I do! I'm looking forward to your thoughts after you read the Feng Shui book.
ReplyDeleteHi Deanna! LOL, a resistant family can be an obstacle. My son has loved helping me clear out clutter, in general, but when it comes to his room, he is much less enthusiastic!
DeleteSometimes I envy homeschooling parents. It must be so fulfilling to bond with your son in that way. But we are lucky to live in an area with good schools so it was never something we really considered until I learned from blogs how many people follow that route. I am sure you are a great teacher for your son!
ReplyDeleteI love decluttering and am almost an addict. On 12 Blueprints, Christine said if there is anyone up cleaning the basement at 3 am it's a light summer. That is me for sure!
Hi Ann! It is exciting to start the new school year and I do love bonding with my son in that way. But it ain't all perfect! :)
DeleteSo you have landed squarely on light summer? That's awesome that you love decluttering. I wish you'd come to my house. I definitely do not love it, but I am determined to be able to enjoy living in my home and that will mean being able to look around in any room without cringing.
Jeanine, yes I have decided on light summer but I hope one day to confirm it with a professional draping. You may learn to enjoy decluttering -,it is so freeing once you can let go of old stuff that is weighing you down.
DeleteThat's great! I hope you are enjoying your light summer colors. Ann, I'd love to learn to enjoy it, but so far, I only enjoy the way it feels afterward. Getting there is still the hard part. :)
