Magical Power Colors: Your Best Dramatic Colors

In Color Your Style, David Zyla identifies this color as your power color, and suggests finding it by taking a look at the color in your veins. He says that it reveals your authority, so it’s best to use it whenever you want to send the message that you are in charge, or capable of being in charge.

Donna Fujii, author of Color with Style, suggests that your dramatic colors are actually a range of greens and blues you can find in your color palette. My range might include pea green, seagreen, teal green, blue green, Chinese blue, aqua, aquamarine, forest green, chartreuse and true blue.

And she thinks of dramatics as the way to create an attention-getting look, whether or not you are trying to assert your authority.

I don't have anything in pea-green, but I do have a shirt/cardigan that looks sort of seagreen, I think...

"When we find the set that enhances you above all the others, what we have really uncovered are the exact pigments already in your skin, in your body. When you then wear the colors you already are, you look like magic because your person and your attire is sending the same wavelength of energy to the viewer." ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

  1. Very interesting. You have a beautiful and eye catching array of blues and greens there. I have David Zyla's book but can never figure out if my vein color is teal or periwinkle. Maybe according to what you are saying, both might be my dramatic colors with a couple of greens thrown in. (Of course I don't really know my best colors except for what DYT says . . . )

    1. Hi Heather! How cool that you have the book. You know, I used that to convince myself initially that I was autumn (which would negate T2). Anyway, you may be right that you have both colors to play with, because my veins show up as more than one green (including olive).

  2. sea colors look so cool and fresh in the summer. For those of us who live not even close to the beach, we have to do what we can to get the sea close to us!

    1. Hi Barbara! What a cool idea!! Maybe that's why my shirt made me feel so peaceful, like I feel when I'm at the beach staring into the deep of the ocean.
