Celebrity Seasonal Color Analysis: Which Season Is Oprah? The Deep Autumn Color Palette...

Edited to add, based on Donna Cognac's comment below: In using 12-season color analysis, I gave Oprah the deep autumn color palette. But back in December, in considering other possible seasons, I chose clear autumn for her.

So either way, she needs deeply warm but bright colors. Truthfully, the best designation is bright or clear autumn, but within the deep autumn color palette, those brighter colors also are a match for her coloring. In fact, the clear autumn color palette is basically, the deeper and brighter colors than warm autumn and the subset of deep-and-bright in deep autumn.

Now, Donna also mentioned spring. I think you could do that, too, if you create a subset of warm spring's deepest colors.

Having trouble deciding which season you are? I'd be happy to help!

Warm Autumn:“This woman never pretends. She won’t say something just to flatter you unless she believes it to be true. She cries harder than anyone at a funeral. She is fiercely loyal to her family but will not spare them hard work or spoil them with extravagance. She may seem to absorb a lot of demands but when she draws the line at enough, everyone knows it.” ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

  1. Hi, Great blog. Forgive me but I just had to weigh in on Oprah's color type. I've been a color consultant and trainer for over 25 years and though I have bounced around over the years with Oprah because it's hard to tell when someone wears a lot of camera makeup but I am now of the mindset that she is actually more of a Spring than an Autumn. I think she would need a custom palette for it to be right on but she glows when she wears bright warm colors. In colors that are too earthy....too 'toasted' she loses her sparkle. Seeing her in a bright clear yellow green top once a while back was the clincher for me. So if I had to give her a 'Seasonal' designation it would be BRIGHT Autumn or RICH Spring. Ofcourse, virtual color done from always just a guess. Donna Cognac, President, Essential Colors

    1. Donna, lovely to hear from you!! And thanks so much! You know, clear/bright autumn is exactly the desgination I gave her when I was exploring "clear autumn" as a possible "extra" season back in December(I generally work within the 12). So I totally get where you are coming from, and yes, I can imagine a sort of deep spring for her, too!

But here, I tried to choose within the 12, and deep autumn seemed like the best of the 12 to match her depth of coloring. I agree, though, that she would need the brighter colors.

Thanks so much for stopping by, weighing in and confirming my own thoughts about her!
