Post-Oscar Recap: Viola Davis

Here we are in day two of the post-Oscar reviews and I'm having so much fun! I plan to do this next week, too, so stick around and offer your opinions! If you missed yesterday's post, I looked at Octavia Spencer's stunning gown.

Viola Davis: The Help...

Though I was disappointed that Viola Davis didn't win an Academy Award for her role in The Help, I remain happy that her work was honored by so many nominations and several other industry awards.

But what did you think of her outfit? Did she honor her season as a deep autumn?

Was Viola Wearing a Deep Autumn Green?...

Viola Davis is beautiful as always, but I think that that green is not her best. Let's compare it to the deep autumn greens...

Do you notice that they are not as bright as her gown? Her green is not in there! I would have loved to see her in a deep olive or even red!!

Academy Awards: Viola Davis

What did you think of Viola's gown?

This red gown is the one I would choose for myself if I were going to walk the red carpet? How can that be, you wonder?

Well, if I were going to be on the red carpet, we'd be in the Land of Make Believe, so I would have the awesome-but-much-smaller hourglass curvaciousness I've always wanted. Plus, I'd be deep enough, in coloring, to wear it! And there would be happiness throughout the land...

What would you wear? Check out what my friend, B., from Way to Be!, would wear by clicking the link.

I'm linking up today with Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy, for What I Wore Wednesday. That's a great place to go to check out all kinds of fabulous outfits.

Warm Autumn:“This woman never pretends. She won’t say something just to flatter you unless she believes it to be true. She cries harder than anyone at a funeral. She is fiercely loyal to her family but will not spare them hard work or spoil them with extravagance. She may seem to absorb a lot of demands but when she draws the line at enough, everyone knows it.” ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

Deep Autumn:"Sensible and straightforward as all Autumns, but direct in speech, and quick to absorb change with good evidence, they speak honestly and bluntly. What I love most, I believe, is that they are not one bit threatened or defensive about new ideas. The person may demonstrate more of Winter’s reserve, or more of Autumn’s passive and natural way, but there is always an element of fire." ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

  1. Heeheehee! I like how you changed her gown! That's awesome! High five! I think you're right, a more olivey gown would have been gorgeous on her! But that red one! Kapow! Gorgeous gown!

You already know what I'd be wearing! I want to go to this land of make believe that you speak of! ;) Thanks for the mention!

    1. You're welcome! I want to go there, too, and live there for a while. :)

LOL! That was fun, and I agree. Kapow!! It looks stunning, doesn't it?
