February Goals: How Did the Month Go for You?

(1) Creating community here at this blog: the two things I want to focus on this month are traffic and comments.

a) Toward that end, for traffic, I want to write one article, create one Squidoo lens and post one new video on YouTube this month.
b) For comments, I want to meet more bloggers and hang out with them a bit. Do you have a blog I could visit?

By the way, let me know if there are color analysis questions or personal style topics you would like to see addressed. I want to make sure that what I write is meeting the needs of the people who come to see me.

I did pretty well with this goal this week! I visited a lot of new blogs and went to visit my faves. And I decided to create a Squidoo lens out of my Whitney Houston post from Saturday and then, another one about our president, Barack Obama. Looking at this month as a whole, though, I feel like I need to do more (no article yet, though I'm working on one & I did create a video), so I may stay with this goal for next month.

(2) Continue making the lifestyle changes I identified last month: contemplative tea time, spending more time with my son, and eating healthier meals (starting with more protein). I want to make sure these changes stick!

I've been great at drinking more tea, overall, and have done a fair job at slowing down a bit, but have not done well at all with meal-planning and thus, have not had very many healthier meals. So this one may come back, too.

I'm not sure. It probably should! Every time I spend time just thinking, staring at the trees, etc., I get really good insights and often, good ideas for work.

(3) Continue to identify (by listing them) the changes I need to make to create my warm autumn capsule wardrobe: this month, my focus is style words, contrast and other style ideas...

a) Style words: natural, earthy, goddess-like, warmhearted, sensuous, deeply rooted, lush, vibrant and warm. I want to keep them in mind when I am shopping, and not make any compromises.
b) Contrast: I want to create outfits that have medium contrast, using the warm autumn neutrals and colors I like best.
c) Style plan: when shopping, or just putting outfits together from my own closet, my goal is to keep in mind the looks that work best, that I enjoy best. I actually drew some silhouette ideas just to keep in mind going forward.

I did well with this, overall, though I think it may continue to be a work in progress. But I'm pleased with what I did this month with identifying & making changes.

How did you do this month?

Warm Autumn:“This woman never pretends. She won’t say something just to flatter you unless she believes it to be true. She cries harder than anyone at a funeral. She is fiercely loyal to her family but will not spare them hard work or spoil them with extravagance. She may seem to absorb a lot of demands but when she draws the line at enough, everyone knows it.” ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

Deep Autumn:"Sensible and straightforward as all Autumns, but direct in speech, and quick to absorb change with good evidence, they speak honestly and bluntly. What I love most, I believe, is that they are not one bit threatened or defensive about new ideas. The person may demonstrate more of Winter’s reserve, or more of Autumn’s passive and natural way, but there is always an element of fire." ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

  1. Awesome job!!
You can always pop over to my blog anytime. :D
    Have a great weekend!

  2. I think you did great on your goals Jeanine! I love the community goal too. Be careful - it can suck you in quickly! :)

    1. Hi Deanna! Thanks!! You're so right. I will have to be careful about that, I guess.

  3. You've made great progress on your goals this week! There is something about nature that seems to help the mind relax, and come up with some insightful and inspiring ideas.

  4. Hi Jeanine,

Wow, you have a lot of occupations there! I see that you have written a book. I've always loved writing, but somehow never really get down to it. I delayed years even just to make my own blog, that's why I opted to do mostly fashion post, because if I have to do a writing post every single time, it would be daunting and I'd never start!

Anyway, February is pretty productive for me as well, but I'm not good in keeping my winter resolutions, I'm afraid. :( You can read my resolutions here
Thank you for coming to my blog and for following. It really encouraged me to continue blogging, though at first, like many other bloggers, I blogged mostly for myself! Haha!
