January Goals: Some Changes & Some Progress...

(1) Finish my career plan for 2012. I am dreaming big long-range and need to finalize my plan and strategies for what I would like to accomplish in the next year....

I've changed my plan a bit. I had a system in mind that I wanted to create this year, but I decided I might be getting ahead of myself.

It will still be part of my long-range plan, but for now, I need to focus more on just creating a community of readers. So in the next couple of weeks, I need to flesh out this new plan for the year and what that will look like in terms of a time commitment and in terms of strategies.

(2) Identify other changes I would like to make this year. Carried over from last year is the desire to slow down, spend more time with family, drink more tea, get healthier, etc. I want to land on 3-5 goals to concentrate on for the year.

I think I have landed on a few goals, so far, and really, these are enough to start with so I may just stop while I'm behind!

a) Drink more tea while creating a slower, contemplative tea lifestyle.
b) Spend more time with my son both during the week and on weekends.
c) Plan and eat more healthy meals, starting with more protein.

I'm happy to report I've made progress with all of these changes. I'm just getting started, and of course, cannot predict the glitches that may arise, but so far, so good! :)

(3) Evaluate my winter capsule wardrobe & identify what works, what doesn't, what needs to change. My plan is to fully live out my own natural style and create a plan for the year that does so, while evaluating what I am doing already. In order to do this, I need to actually get dressed more often. We'll see how it goes...

Well, it's been hit or miss as far as getting dressed is concerned, but when I did get dressed, I wore outfits I felt really good about and that fit my style. In case you missed it earlier in the week, here is my winter capsule wardrobe and the 30 pieces I will be wearing this month.

How did your week go?

Warm Autumn:“This woman never pretends. She won’t say something just to flatter you unless she believes it to be true. She cries harder than anyone at a funeral. She is fiercely loyal to her family but will not spare them hard work or spoil them with extravagance. She may seem to absorb a lot of demands but when she draws the line at enough, everyone knows it.” ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

  1. Your wardrobe looks so comfortable! I like you are committed to choosing a style that reflects you...rather than others. Great job with your goals this week!

    1. Thanks! It really is comfortable, which is important to me. And yes, authenticity, even in the way I dress, is also VERY important to me.

    1. Hi Meredith! Good to see you. Thanks!! I feel good about my goals, too, and this month, unlike others last year, I feel motivated to do them all (LOL).

I'm glad you like the picture of my capsule wardrobe. I feel good about it, too, although I can already tell that there are a few pieces that may not make the cut, and others that will become faves.
