January Goals: Did You Accomplish Them?

(1) Finish my career plan for 2012. I needed to finalize my long-range plans and strategies for what I would like to accomplish in the next year.

I have several long-range goals & strategies in place, and I am still identifying what that means for this year, but I have some basic ideas to start with (like increasing community) and am pleased with them.

(2) Identify other changes I would like to make this year. Carried over from last year is the desire to slow down, spend more time with family, drink more tea, get healthier, etc. I have landed on 3-5 goals to concentrate on for the year...

a) Drink more tea while creating a slower, contemplative tea lifestyle.
b) Spend more time with my son both during the week and on weekends.
c) Plan and eat more healthy meals, starting with more protein.

This goal worked well (did you read about my afternoon tea adventure?) on all counts and I am pleased with how well it's going. Now I just need to continue that each month. So I may bring this one back next month just to strengthen it a bit and make those changes more of a habit.

(3) Evaluate my winter capsule wardrobe & identify what works, what doesn't, what needs to change. My plan was to fully live out my own natural style and create a plan for the year that does so, while evaluating what I am doing already.

I did very well with this goal, in spite of the fact that it didn't happen the way I had expected. I had planned to do a month of deep autumn outfits by using the 30 for 30 Remix construct, and as it turns out, I have less than 20 outfits to show for it, and I have landed on warm autumn leaning deep (and that happened long before the month was up).

But even doing it a little differently worked in that I am clearer on what works and what doesn't and I have changes in mind to make with my wardrobe. I have new style words, I know I am a natural, vibrant warm autumn and I know where my wardrobe is going from here. Success! :)

How did the month go for you?

Warm Autumn:“This woman never pretends. She won’t say something just to flatter you unless she believes it to be true. She cries harder than anyone at a funeral. She is fiercely loyal to her family but will not spare them hard work or spoil them with extravagance. She may seem to absorb a lot of demands but when she draws the line at enough, everyone knows it.” ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

    1. Thanks, Aurie!! Wow, that would be so much fun! I wish I did, too. Not that I'm saying you need hints, just that nothing is more fun than shopping with someone else's money! :)
