Color Your Style: Which Autumn Archetype Am I?

Last week, I expanded my study of David Zyla's book, Color Your Style, to create a visual representation of my 8 essence colors. Well, after finding those eight colors, the book helps you determine which of the four seasons fits best, but then, for each season gives 6 archetypes.

I had some trouble determining mine, but then decided to add up points for the descriptions in each one that I could relate to and see which one had the most.

There were two that were close, but the one that initially edged out slightly ahead (by one point), also had the words "vivid" and "contrast" in its description.

That fits me perfectly in terms of what I need to create with my outfits! So I settled on high autumn. But I have to admit, I am not so sure about the style. I think you can do vivid and contrast without high autumn's style. Still, I decided to give it a shot on Polyvore.

Here are some capsule wardrobe, high autumn outfit ideas I came up with while playing around on Polyvore...

High Autumn Ideas

As I said though, I wasn't crazy about this style, so I decided to give the other autumn style, stylish beatnik, a try...

Stylish Beatnik, Gamine Autumn

Which one do you like better? And how would you describe your style?

Warm Autumn:“This woman never pretends. She won’t say something just to flatter you unless she believes it to be true. She cries harder than anyone at a funeral. She is fiercely loyal to her family but will not spare them hard work or spoil them with extravagance. She may seem to absorb a lot of demands but when she draws the line at enough, everyone knows it.” ~~Christine Scaman, 12 Blueprints

  1. Oh, goodness. I thought I was doing good to figure out I was an autumn. Now you tell me there's another part to it??? Egads.

    1. LOL!! Well, don't worry so much about that until you have had some time just to get used to being an autumn. Then, you can consider the style aspects. :)

  2. Stylish beatnik! Those look fun to wear!! I love your polyvore boards! Polyvore is addicting and time consuming for me though! Lol!

    1. Hi B.! Don't they? I think I may play with that style a bit because when I used to work outside the home, I dressed a lot like that, getting everything tapered after I bought it, wearing lots of stirrup/boot combinations, etc. Yes, you are SO right about Polyvore!

  3. I don't know if either of the archetypes totally fits you, but Stylish Beatnik seems more "you." :) My closest Zyla archetype was "Sexy Librarian" for--guess who-- soft autumns. ;)

    1. LOL, Lauren! I think that's what I would say, too, that it's my "closest" archetype. But I know what you mean. It's not a perfect fit, either.
