3 in 30: My Soft Autumn Goals for August ~ How did you do this week?

(1) Get certified as a color analyst... DONE!!! And I wrote all about that in this blog post here.

(2) Decide once and for all what I will take and wear to the Celebrate Your Beauty conference...

Next week, I’m going to the very first Dressing Your Truth conference, called Celebrate Your Beauty, and still haven't completely decided what to take & what to wear.

Well, my anxiety about that is very typical for a dressing your truth type 2 and it has sort of been a background companion as I considered what to wear. As I mentioned the other day, Carol Tuttle, the founder of the Dressing Your Truth system, emailed those of us attending a beautiful video designed to help anyone clear inadequacy or worry about what the event will be like and it was SO helpful I decided to share it here!

It really captures the essence of what I love about Dressing Your Truth: the belief that all women are beautiful and the loving affirmation of that in all the information they share in the program.

After watching the video, I felt so much more relaxed about the whole process of choosing what to bring with me and wear each day! And now, I have chosen all my outfits.

Here's what I decided to wear to the dance...

(3) Start planning my early fall capsule wardrobe using the principles in my book...

One thing that has occurred to me in the past week is that here in the south, there are really two seasons: early fall and late-fall-becoming-winter. I think, for now, I only want to tackle early fall and will wait another month to create a capsule wardrobe for colder weather.

Well, this week I did an inventory of what I have in my closet and, despite the catalogs' insistence that there are lots of new fall items I "must have" and my own never-ending wish for more, I discovered that I really don't need anything.

I may add a tank or two in fall colors (have you seen the new Coldwater Creek collection for fall?). But basically, I am done. My wardrobe is capsule-ready for fall.

All I really need to do is decide which things I will actually wear during the transition. Because a capsule wardrobe really needn't be more than 24 items that mix-and-match and I counted 42 possibilities!

So I may try to narrow it down a bit so that it includes 24 favorites.

COMING SOON: Twenty-Twenty September! A fall capsule wardrobe challenge hosted by me and fellow 3 in 30 blogger, Claire at her blog, this seasonal color analysis blog and my blog about Dressing Your Truth.

Details: It starts in September (yep, a back-to-school extravaganza for moms) but we get weekends off, so it's twenty weekdays and twenty different outfits. Start getting ready now by doing your own closet inventory.

  1. Oh my word! Fantastic progress!
You might have to make it 6 in 30!! :)
Have a wonderful time at the Dressing Your Truth event!
