Seasonal Color Analysis: Deciding on Soft Autumn

Which Season Am I?

After going back and forth and around the bend, looking at my eye color, my hair color, my skin color and every Internet and Amazon resource I could get my hands on, I still wasn't sure what my season was. But I was drawn to the autumn colors, especially the soft autumn ones, and I was pretty sure that I was in the soft category. So I did a draping, of sorts, and invited my forum friends to weigh in on it.

Me and the Draping of It All

Here are all my efforts to capture my elusive season in pictures...

Summer/Autumn Hybrid

Their feedback was fascinating!

The blues were too cool or too pastel, the bold orange & olive green were too warm or too saturated w/ color, the camel & khaki were okay but better as pants or with a scarf if near my face. The light stone and cream were good, as was the coral, but the coral needed to be more muted.

Most of the pinks were too bright or too cool, but the soft fuschia got differing opinions. All agreed it would need to be more muted. The browns got a yes vote, the bright red got a no. Charcoal was okay, heather grey not warm enough or intense enough.

So putting it all together, I decided that I am some kind of summer/autumn hybrid, and I am going to experiment with the soft autumn colors for 30 days to see if that fits.

Soft Autumn Seasonal Color Analysis Challenge

For the next 30 days, my plan is to wear nothing but soft autumn colors. I should take a picture every day and I will try but I can't promise. Because to be honest, there are some go-nowhere days where I don't even get out of my pjs!

Feel free to share your thoughts (kindly) about whether something works or doesn't, should stay or go as part of my summer capsule wardrobe.
